Now sponsored through a partnership with the Kauffman Foundation, Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday July 8th, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday teams focus on development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.

To date, Startup Weekend has helped educate more than 17,000 entrepreneurs at over 120 events worldwide, and has facilitated the launch of over 560 new startup ventures around the globe. Startup Weekend is a signature event during Global Entrepreneurship Week, a Kauffman Foundation-founded initiative that annually introduces millions of young people around the world to entrepreneurship.
