IDEA Camp Spring (hosted by STARTec)

Friday, May 7, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

St. Petersburg College Collaborative Labs

Do you have an innovative technology, product or process in the early stages of development? Would you like to work with industry experts and coaches to create a winning product pitch and value proposition for your startup technology concept?

Then apply to participate in STAR Technology Enterprise Center’s IDEA Spring Camp. This collaborative event will help inventors, entrepreneurs and small businesses refine their “90 second elevator pitch” and effectively communicate their product’s competitive attributes.

Participants should expect to leave IDEA Camp with:

• A refined business model that effectively communicates product attributes
• Credibility for their product or idea through peer vetting
• Confidence to deliver an effective value proposition
• Solidified ideas to focus your resources and drive your deliverables
• New ideas, or technology improvements from real-time feedback
• Momentum to move forward with a “next step” plan for their idea
• A refined  90 second pitch delivered to potential partners and stakeholders
• New contacts and resources to move  their idea forward

Only 15 technology concepts will be accepted for IDEA Camp.

WuFoo Workshop – Converting free users to paid users

January  27th – 6PM to 8PM @ IdeaField Coworking

Kevin Hale of WuFoo / Infinity Box will be leading a workshop to help web businesses convert free users to paid subscribers. This event is co-hosted by the Tampa WAVE & IdeaField Coworking.

The 2 hour workshop will help freemium model web businesses in the Tampa Bay area convert free users to paid users. The workshop is designed to be fairly hands on with exercises designed to show you how to look at your product and feature set to maximize your conversions.   • 9:30 AM – Doors open, people can sign up for talks on the big writeboard.
  • 10:00 AM – Talks start. There are three rooms for presentations, and each presentation will have 25 minutes and they will be spaced out. We recommend that you limit your talks to about 20 minutes to allow 5 minutes for discussion (and incase you run long).
  • 1:00 PM – Lunch is served, we take an hour break
  • 2:00 PM – Talks resume
  • 6:00 PM – Barcamp ends and the afterparty starts at Slingapours
