BarCamp Tampa Bay

BarCamp Tampa Bay

Tampa’s first BarCamp is set for October 11th & 12th at the USF Business School. Join others in the tech community and participate in this unique event. If you know what BarCamp is all about and have been waiting for a local event, now is your chance to participate. If you have never heard of BarCamp, then this event is probably not for you.

This is not a casual conference for the faint of heart or non-geeks looking for a 101 introduction to tech. BarCamp is a fast paced, interactive learning experience. Expect to see live demonstrations of programming and content management tools with many discussions showing coding techniques, and the inner workings of web applications. It’s all tech and no sales, bring your laptop and leave your business cards at home.

In 2007, the Kauffman Foundation sponsored Entrepreneurship Week USA — a national effort to get young people to “think big” and “take it on.” More than 1,300 organizations planned 3,700 activities celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship throughout all 50 states. Nearly half-a-million people participated in those activities. This year, we’re looking to make the Week even bigger and better.

America’s history is full of entrepreneurial success stories full of imagination, creativity and innovation. Global Entrepreneurship Week/USA is designed to spark, nurture, and fine-tune those traits in our young people by inspiring enterprising behavior. Support risk-takers. Make a difference in your community. Mentor young people with real drive and real dreams. Take part in the Week, and help shape the next generation of entrepreneurs.

On November 17th you can join other businesses, educational organizations and local government as we celebrate the growing entrepreneurial economy in Tampa Bay.
